Recovery World

An active Elliott Digital project exploring a different approach to community information, service navigation and digital infrastructure — and how a complete digital platform can be built around a real community need.

Understand the world around the person, not the person themselves.

What it is

A digital platform built around a real community need

Platform showcase

A platform built around how people navigate services

Recovery World brings together organisations, locations, structured service information, community assets, navigation and public/community intelligence within a wider framework for understanding the conditions around people’s lives.

  • Community information and service navigation, treated as connected infrastructure
  • A privacy principle that looks at the world around the person, not the person
  • Accessibility considered in the design and build from the start

The Problem

Community information and service navigation can be fragmented across organisations, locations and systems.

Recovery World explores how digital infrastructure can help make that wider environment easier to understand.

The First Idea

The first idea was to bring together organisations, locations, service information and community assets within one wider framework.

A Different Privacy Principle

Understand the world around the person, not the person themselves.

The principle directs attention toward services, places, assets and community conditions rather than unnecessary personal-data collection.

Life Navigation

Recovery World explores navigation across the organisations, locations, services and community assets that form part of people’s lives.

Community Assets

The project treats community assets as part of the wider conditions around people, alongside formal organisations and services.

Structured Service Information

Structured service information is intended to help organisations describe what they provide consistently and keep that information useful.

System Learning

Bringing structured information together can support learning about the wider service and community system, including what is present and what may be missing.

Research & Evidence

Recovery World connects with Elliott Digital’s interest in how research, evidence and digital engineering can work together around complex social and community challenges.

Design & Accessibility

Accessibility is part of the design and build from the beginning. The project must support understandable information and usable digital journeys.

Architecture

The active project explores community information, service navigation and digital infrastructure as connected parts of a wider system.

Build, Test, Learn

The work is developed through building, testing, learning from real-world use and improving what does not yet work well enough.

What Recovery World Has Taught Us

Technology should not be the starting point. Understanding the service, information, context and people who need to use it comes first.

The Wider Direction

Recovery World continues to explore a wider framework for understanding the conditions around people’s lives and the infrastructure that supports community information.

Project status

An active Elliott Digital project

Recovery World remains an active project. This page describes the current direction without presenting unfinished work as an available product.
